JAZZ ON THE HAWKESBURY

Sunday 21st April 2013

This day will provide you with a drive through one of our cities state forests, an hour or so drive in your proper car and a visit to a country home on the side of the Hawkesbury River where you will have lunch to the accompaniment of a jazz band.

The “Lamrock Boys” as they are known, i.e. Richard, Tim and Phil have invited our Club to their property where the area set aside is under shade trees right beside the river with room for our cars to be parked in view nearby. Here you can lunch to your BYO food and drinks as well as tables and chairs whilst being entertained by the “Pure Nostalgia” jazz band. This should provide us for just the right mood for a relaxing and most enjoyable time.

We will meet at the Cumberland State Forest information centre where entry is off the Castle Hill Road near the intersection of Coonara Avenue in West Pennant Hills. If you would like a coffee at the cafe or to simply have a look at the information centre or nearby nursery you should try and arrive about 9am. We will leave about 10am where you will follow instructions for an hour or so drive out to the Lamrock’s property. Entry to the property is along an unsealed road however the surface is quite good.

I am sure this day will provide you with a mix of things to do and see and you will be free to leave in your own time for the trip home.

For further information please ring me or simply turn up at the Cumberland State Forest information centre on the day.

Dave Stuart.
