EGEORGE GREEN MEMORIAL RALLY
Friday 19th September 2014 to Monday 22nd September 2014. Celebrating 70 years of the V.S.C.C.A. This year sees our 70th year since the formation of the Vintage Sports Car Club of Australia in September 1944. As you have been advised, this year we are combining the George Green Memorial Rally together with a celebration during the month our Club was formed all those years ago. With all the founder members now no longer with us this rally will provide us time to reflect on those members and the early days of the Club with some lovely touring in our proper cars with a hub rally being centred at Wagga Wagga. We will hopefully have some 80 or so entries as we have invited both the V.S.C.C. of Victoria and South Australia together with the Vintage Car Club of Queensland to join the rally. I have already received expressions of interest from interstate and would urge you to forward your expression of interest as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment with motel bookings. For this purpose I have attached an expression of interest form for you to fill out and return to me by post of email. There is the possibility we will overnight in Orange with entrants from Queensland and country N.S.W. on the way to Wagga and this will make the journey more pleasant rather than travelling the Hume to Gundagai The Victorians have tacked their Alpine Rally onto the end of this event starting from Wagga on Monday 22nd – so this will give you the opportunity of travelling with them on part of their rally back to Melbourne which will no doubt take you down through Tumut and over the High Country where you can leave and travel back to Sydney from a point where you decide. Whilst in Wagga we will be joined by their local vintage car movement on the Sunday where the rally will take us to an historic property for lunch – the journey to and from this property will be though some of the most scenic countryside the district can offer. You will be bussed that night to a winery for dinner. The Saturday is already booked for us to attend the Air Show at Temora where you will see an action packed day of vintage and World War 2 aircraft flying. Again the journey to and from Temora will take you through great countryside and in early spring it will be looking at its best. So the rest is up to you, if you are interested in joining the rally PLEASE get your expression of interest to me as soon as possible and at a later date you will receive your entry form and provision to pre pay your accommodation and meals etc. David Stuart.
